Integrity Muscles

As a student/athlete, you are probably aware of building “core” strength. There are all sorts of exercises you can use to strengthen your physical foundation – your center.

Making sound choices is one great way to exercise your integrity muscles. Sticking to what you know is right despite the pushes and pulls of others is a great progressive resistance exercise.

As with any conditioning exercise, you will need to exert a greater force to overcome a heavier object. Pushing back against peers and friends that ask you to join the group in smoking, drinking or trying
drugs, can seem impossible.

With time and effort, you can overcome inertia and push that unwanted burden away. Chances are, when others see
what you can do -saying“no” – they will find their hidden
strength as well.
