“300” – Noah Melan

“Purpose is defined as the reason for which something is done or created.

I believe that each and every of us have a sacred call in our life.

We all have a deep down tug.

Something that makes our heart skip a beat and gets our mind racing with dreams.

Possibilities and vision.

This goes hand in hand with two of the ultimate questions in life:

“What is my purpose and how in the world do I pursue it?”

For me, my faith and my music has always been a constant.

Every single morning I thanked God for my family and another day of life. Sitting with a guitar in my hand,  playing until my fingers bled,  was also a constant.

15934415_10208229853320781_1100623080_nThen, through high school, I set those on the backburner, not thinking they would ever take me anywhere. I came up with some ridiculous answers to the question of  “what do you want to do with your life?”

Ideas  like architecture or journalism. Things I knew deep down weren’t me.

I tossed and turned at night fearing that I would never accomplish what I was put on this earth to do.

One night, during my senior year, I led worship at a church event.

The pastor took me aside saying, “You have a gift, and don’t you ever stop using it.”

At that moment, hiding right in plain sight, I found my purpose.

We all have a call within us that needs answering.

You can’t shake it.

You can’t fool it.

You can’t hide it.

This world is desperately waiting for YOU to fearlessly pursue the one unique purpose that has been placed only within your heart.

Never give up on that incessant tug deep within your soul.

From this moment forward, resolve to live intentionally.

Live on purpose.”
