What it is that you keep harboured in your soul.

“The soul attracts that which it secretly harbours; that which it loves, and also that which it fears; it reaches the height of its cherished aspirations; it falls to the level of its unchastened desires,—and circumstances are the means by which the soul receives its own.”

James Allen

So what is it that you keep harboured, tucked away within the shores of your soul?

Is it a desire for wealth beyond measure?  A need for accolades, acclamation and attention?  A lust to possess someone or something?

Perhaps it is fear or anxiety that you keep hidden within a cove.  The sense that you will never measure up.  Cannot possibly make the grade.  May be overlooked, disregarded or forgotten yet again.

Maybe it is just this; that you don’t know.  Aren’t sure. Don’t understand.  The sense that you are just moving along. Carried  in and out with a tide.

Whatever the case, as Mr. Allen points out,  one tends to ride the current created in your harbour.  Respecting the markers or not.  Floating towards good or bad,  victory or defeat, living or dying.

Creating for yourself the ebb and flow of circumstance.  Waves you might be able to ride out.  The squall that eventually appears and takes you into the rocks.  Or the ripples that beckon you to embrace a change of course.

To revisit what has been secretly anchored off shore.

What it is that you keep harboured in your soul.
